Principal's Message

Congratulations on choosing the gift of Catholic education for your child! This gift will take some years to administer but will stay with them for a lifetime. Through this gift, your child will be nourished in mind, body, and soul. The Catholic school system contributes significantly to the social and cultural fabric of our Church and world. It provides a learning environment that allows your child to question and challenge the secular values of today’s society. Through the use of distinctive curriculum materials developed especially for Catholic schools, each child will master not only the required skills and knowledge, but also clear expectations. These expectations are based on Gospel values that embrace social justice, social welfare, and life issues.

We are proud that the Bishop O’Gorman Catholic Schools community has been firmly established for more than 50 years. Our strengths include a low teacher-to-student ratio, a diverse student population, constant communication between teachers and parents, a full-time special needs program, the teaching of Catholic principles with daily prayer, religion classes, weekly Mass, and service projects. As we continue to function in an ever-changing society, we stay focused on the teachings of Jesus Christ and develop students who are prepared academically, spiritually, and socially for today’s world.

Along with our spiritual and academic strengths, we are proud of the many service-oriented activities that our school conducts. This year, our students collected food and personal items for the Presentation Sisters, the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House, and for newborn babies. We have collected coins for the Presentation Sisters, written letters to troops in the Navy, sung for our First Friday senior citizens, and conducted many other activities that build character and help others.

We encourage you to become an active participant in the faith development of your child. You will have many opportunities to join them at school and at Church as they journey to become fully alive in Christ. By assisting them in their Catholic education, you will also renew, enrich, and deepen your own Catholic faith.

One of the most important decisions that you make in your child’s development is the choice of their school. We are a perfect fit for families who are looking for a school that centers on Jesus Christ, teaches life lessons, and provides opportunities for students of all backgrounds to excel. We thank you for considering St. Michael School as part of your family’s future.

Thank you and God Bless,
Lisa Huemoeller,
Principal
