Welcome to St. Michael School!  We are part of the Bishop O’Gorman Catholic Schools, which includes six preschool - 6th grade elementary schools, one Junior High and one High School serving more than 2,400 students. The mission of our Catholic school is to form a community of faith and learning through Gospel values and academic excellence.

Principal's Message

It is my honor to welcome you to St. Michael Catholic School, where faith, learning and community come together! As part of the Bishop O’Gorman Catholic School System, we offer a preschool – sixth grade curriculum that is rigorous and challenges students to achieve at their highest potential. Small class sizes offer more individualized instruction to meet students where they’re at and accommodate various learning styles. Teachers encourage students to be creative and work collaboratively and also provide them opportunities to use critical thinking skills to develop a love for learning.

God is known, loved and served by the students and staff at St. Michael. Weekly Mass, Adoration, priest visits in the classroom, in addition to daily prayer, religion instruction, and high standards of behavior and expectations, are a few of the ways in which we offer a Christ-centered environment. Staff are committed to helping students cultivate authentic connections to Christ and one another.

A safe and structured learning environment allows for uninterrupted instruction and more time for community building. Students develop healthy relationships with peers and are coached through conflict resolution. We value the strong partnerships we have with our parents and the support they provide their students and our school. We are located on the west side of Sioux Falls on the corner of 26th Street and Marion Road.  We are a secure school and the entrance to the school is located at entrance E next to the flagpole.
