SFO (School Family Organization)
SFO (School Family Organization) meets quarterly and all parents and guardians are a part of the organization. Attending SFO meetings is a great way to meet other school families and become an active part of our school community. The purpose of the SFO is:
Communication: Meetings are led by the school principal. Reports are given and those in attendance are solicited for input and feedback.
Promote information and education for the benefit of students and families: Current school information, school needs, service projects, and fundraising efforts are topics of discussion. Guest speakers are often invited.
Promote spiritual and social activities for students, families, faculty and staff: When available, the Parish Priest attends meetings. School socials such as Bingo Night, Preschool Prom, & Skate Night are planned through the SFO. In-school events like Specialty Day, Teacher Appreciation Week, and celebrations like Feast Day, First Communion and 6th Grade Graduation are supported by SFO.
Aid with volunteer service: A list of annual events, that run through the SFO and require volunteer help, is available at the beginning of the year. We encourage all families to get involved!
Throughout the month of October, we ask all of our families to support our Pay-a-Day Calendar Fundraiser. Families are each given a calendar and challenged to fill each day with a donation that matches that day of the month (Oct. 7 = $7). Field trips, technology, school celebrations, awards, and classroom materials are all dependent on the success of this fundraiser. All funds directly support St. Michael students and staff.
